Terms of Service

Welcome to Kuuli. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kuuli website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use Kuuli. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is truthful and accurate.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please keep your password secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may enable two-factor authentication and other security features to help protect your account.

How Kuuli works

Kuuli combines astrological birth chart data, an AI matchmaker conversation, and a lifestyle questionnaire to surface people you may be compatible with. Compatibility readings are reflective and interpretive, not a guarantee. Astrology is not scientifically proven, and Kuuli uses it as one of several signals. You are solely responsible for your interactions and decisions regarding other members.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Kuuli respectfully and lawfully, and to follow our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms. Among other things, you agree not to:

  • Use photos that are not yours or impersonate anyone.
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm other members.
  • Post hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise prohibited content.
  • Solicit, scam, or attempt to obtain money or private information from other members.
  • Use the Services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to access, disrupt, or interfere with the Services or other members' accounts.

Violating these Terms or our Community Guidelines may result in content removal, suspension, or termination of your account.

User content

You retain ownership of the content you submit, such as photos, voice answers, and messages. By submitting content, you grant Kuuli a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and use that content as necessary to operate and improve the Services. You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.

Subscriptions and payments

Kuuli offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment providers (such as Stripe or, on mobile, the app store's in-app purchase system) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; when you cancel a recurring subscription, you generally retain access until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices and features may change, and we will provide notice of material changes where required.

Verification

Kuuli may offer photo and identity verification features. Verification is provided on a best-effort basis and does not guarantee that any member is who they claim to be. Always use good judgment and take appropriate precautions when meeting people.

Termination

You may stop using Kuuli and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or engage in conduct we regard as inappropriate, illegal, or harmful. Kuuli reserves the right to investigate and terminate accounts without refunding any purchase fees in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Kuuli does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any match, reading, or interaction will meet your expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kuuli and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services or your interactions with other members.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting the updated Terms with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
